Penny Candy Makes the Perfect Cold Brew!

One of our favorite ways to enjoy Penny Candy is as a low-acid, ultra-smooth cold brew—we always keep a mason jar of concentrate in the fridge!

Here’s how to make it at home:

🔹 You’ll Need:

• 6 oz. coarse ground coffee

• 24 oz. filtered water

• 2 quart-sized mason jars (one for brewing, one for filtered concentrate)

• Coffee filter & brew basket (or a fine-mesh sieve)

🔹 Brew Instructions:

1. Add 6 oz. of coarse ground coffee to a quart-sized mason jar.

2. Pour in 24 oz. of filtered water and stir to saturate all grounds.

3. Cover with a lid and steep in the fridge for 14-16 hours.

4. Strain through a coffee filter into a clean jar.

5. Store the cold brew concentrate in the fridge for up to 7 days.

🔹 Serving Suggestions:

• For a hot cup, dilute 1 part concentrate with 3 parts hot water.

• For iced coffee, use a 2:1 ratio of concentrate to water to prevent dilution as the ice melts.
